Play against your friends in a 3-4 player card game by bidding for sneakers and selling them to customers. Whoever has the most customer value points will be the sole victor!
Quick How-to-play
1. Stock Phase
Players will bid for sneakers with money (depending on the number of players).
The catch is when >2 players bid for the same sneaker using the same amount, both sneaker and money will be discarded.
2. Sell Phase
Players must win customers by selling their sneakers to them. Each customer has its preferences in brand, tier, and colour, as well as points.
If >2 players bid for the same customer, the player wins the customer if their sneaker matches more of the customer's preferences.
Whoever gets the most points after the phase ends wins.
The end product consists of 141 playable cards (including 4 quick reference cards) and a rule book, placed within a DIY shoe box.
Takeaways
Conducting numerous playtest sessions made me realise how people grasp rules of physical games differently from video games, hence information must be presented differently and intuitively. Ideas also tend to fail, bringing new inspirations to breakthrough, which happened a lot during the development phase. We also ensured that there is no dominant strategy, allowing a fair and engaging experience.
